Amidst the two weeks of screenings and events that was The Times BFI 51st London Film Festival sat the calm oasis of the filmmakers’ breakfasts, which along with being a perfect opportunity to load up on coffee and croissants for the day, meant that I got to speak to some of the directors with their films fresh in mind.

The telling of extreme stories can, if a filmmaker’s brave enough, require a production to push itself to the limit in the some of the most inhospitable environments the world has to offer. Director Asif Kapadia’s latest feature Far North shot in the Arctic Circle is one such story. I got to speak to him about his progression as a filmmaker and bringing together the right team for such a demanding project.

Great Review. It would be hard to do a hot scene in a frigid envirnment like that.

  2. MarBelle says:

Glad you enjoyed the interview. It was a pleasure to chat to a director so clearly interested in challenging himself.
