It’s the time of year when I get to pretend I’m hard done by; slaving away in darkened cinemas, gorging on the finest films the Times BFI 52nd London Film Festival has to offer. The upside to my valiant sacrifice is that I’m a sharing kinda guy:

After many years working as a successful Pakistani Television director, Mehreen Jabbar moved to the cinematic feature with her debut Ramchand Pakistani, based on the true story of a father and young son imprisoned for crossing the Pakistan/India border and the mother/wife who waits in hope of their return.

Ramchand Pakistani (2008)

A 7 year old Pakistani boy and his father belonging to the untouchable Hindu caste accidentally cross the border and spend years in an Indian jail while the mother on the other side doesn’t know what has happened to them.
