The music world has always been prone to focus on particular areas across the globe as hot spots of talent at a particular time and in doing so identify a ‘scene’. We’re joined this week by first time feature documentary director Wojtek Bozyk who’s Rockin’ Brooklyn examines the Brooklyn music scene and asks what, if anything, binds the bands who live and play there together.
Rockin’ Brooklyn (2006)
Rockin’ Brooklyn explores the music scene and most importantly the life of the musicians: their inspirations, dreams and aspirations in Brooklyn, New York. What drives them to have a band? What does it mean? Does Brooklyn somehow influence their music? Is there a music scene? This film together with new voices in music provides insight into these questions.
