You have to be pretty brave to make a music video which is just one static shot, but that’s exactly what Parisien design studio M/M decided to do with the video for Benjamin Biolay’s ‘Padam’ and it’s a risk that certainly pays off.
Biolay scuttles, shuffles and slides across the frame like a possessed incarnation of part Jarvis Cocker, part Saturday Night Fever John Travolta and part drunk Uncle at the wedding. It is his presence and in particular his silky smooth moves that make this video so watchable though, almost hypnotic in fact. I didn’t dare look away!
