Born in Lima, Peru and raised in São Paulo, Brazil – animator Alois Di Leo founded the animation and design studio SINLOGO before moving to the UK to study at the National Film and Television School. It was during his studies there that he made his graduation film The Boy Who wanted to be a Lion – a stylish yellow-tinged animation with a thoughtful and provocative plot.

Max is a seven-year-old deaf boy growing up in the 1960s. One day he goes on a school trip to the zoo, where he sees a lion for the first time. A feeling begins to grow inside him that will change his life forever.
