In Nic Wassell’s experimental short Dry, a woman revisits the places of her past armed with a polaroid camera in the hope of capturing the essence of what brought her joy in the time before.

“Inspired by the work of Tsai Ming Liang and Victor Erice, ‘Dry’ is the result of a fascination with telling stories more through visual imagery and mood than classical plot exposition. In the same way that still photography can contain a story even within the scope of a single photograph and meanings can only become clear in hindsight, we travel through the locations of the film as if flipping through a photo album or sightseeing through our own memories.”
