radiance

Although weaved throughout with fantastical elements, at its core Andrew Cumming’s short Radiance is the story of a co-dependence fuelled by sisterly love and the difficulties of facing up to the realisation that sometimes it’s better for all concerned to let go. Andrew joins us to discuss recrafting scenes on the fly and how to pull off a convincing telekinetic joy explosion.

Radiance (2013)

A city, the present. Sisters Nina and Tash spend their lives moving between bedsits and hostels, trying to keep a low profile. Nina has a strange neurological condition that causes chaos whenever she feels intense pleasure or happiness. With each passing month it gets stronger and Nina has become addicted to the unbelievable high it provides and Tash is struggling to control it.

I think we’ve all got a dark side. I think we’ve all got little secrets stored away that we maybe don’t want people to know about us.
