echo

You may recall our conversation with rising director Lewis Arnold at the end of last year for his impressive ‘tall tale gone bad’ short Charlie Says. Well, during that chat Lewis spoke a little about Echo, another short he had out travelling the festival circuit. With Echo released online just over a week ago, and basking in the Vimeo Staff Pick limelight, it seemed the perfect excuse to delve even deeper into Lewis’ time at the National Film and Television School and the creation of his repetitive compulsion narrative.

Echo (2013)

Echo follows 17-year-old Caroline, as she receives a phone call delivering the tragic news that her dad has been involved in a motorbike accident. Her unexpected reaction reveals there is more to this call then first appears.

It’s much more interesting to get into the headspace of someone who has these inner conflicts.
