So we began August by gathering the very best family friendly shorts and heading out to Lulworth Castle to screen them for the crowds of Camp Bestival, but those of you who know what a typical DN summer looks like will be aware that no mater what, DN’s August bank holiday offline activities are always dedicated to the dual screenings which take place at the Reading and Leeds music festivals. As always, it’s been a hair tearing, hallway pacing, late night anguish culling a year’s worth of shorts into the 27 films we’re playing over the weekend and El Vez and I are extremely grateful to all the filmmakers who gave us permission to take their films on the road and of course to Film Oxford who invite us back each year.
