Finding himself randomly chuckling at the memory of Ryan Kramer’s Mushrooms ToonHole comic, Intersection Director Brendan Beachman sought Kramer’s blessing to translate the strip into toilet comedy short Bad Deal before embarking on a speedy production:
“My cinematographer had a RED camera in between shoots that we were able to use for free, so I cobbled together a group of funny actor friends and shot this in a day at my house and my wife’s workplace. Usually my work is much darker and more existential, but lately the news and political climate has me wanting to make people laugh. America seems to be in a dark and especially divisive place right now, but there is one thing that I think we can all come to an agreement with — that poop jokes will always be funny.”
