It’s hard to believe Le Royaume is a graduating film, it has the look and feel of an early Hayao Miyazaki animation and its scale and attention to detail feels greater than anything you usually see coming out of a University. It’s a stunning piece of animation that seems to owe a lot to not only traditional methods, but also traditional story-lines. I wouldn’t at all be surprised if we see the work of these talented animators again very soon.
