Oh August bank holiday weekend how we love thee. Not because of the potential for hot sunny skies, nor the lazy pleasure of an extra day off work. No, whilst those are certainly bonuses, the true source of our annual excitement overload comes from the 11+ year tradition of Directors Notes taking a collection of our favourite shorts out into the world and showing them across both the Reading and Leeds music festival sites in our Cinema Tent Shorts screenings. Here’s a taste of what we’ll be sharing:
Our heartfelt thanks goes out to our long time curation partners over at Film Oxford and of course, all the directors whose films make up this year’s programme and provide us here at DN with daily doses of inspiration! We’re looking forward to seeing friends old and new at the screenings, from midnight tonight through to the early hours of Monday morning (see the posters above for full details), but for those of you unfortunately not at Reading or Leeds this weekend – or too impatient to wait – grab a beer, get comfortable and enjoy the show…
