Thanks to the face to face toilet troughs at Reading, I found myself trapped in conversation at a moment I’d much rather be alone with my thoughts; separated only by a 2mm grill for the duration. When a stranger engages you it’s hard to know just where the line between rudeness and over accommodation sits. Sam Norton’s speedily conceived and executed short Strangers is a cringe inducing exemplar of that situation.
About the Author / MarBelle
MarBelle has a strange compulsion to watch as many films as he can get his hands on and find jobs that give him a legitimate excuse to drill filmmakers about their work. Directors Notes is the multi-decade incarnation of this disorder and remains so much cheaper than film school.
