Reminiscent of David Wilson’s We Got Time promo (admittedly sans wolf masks), Theodore Ushev’s zoopraxiscope inspired promo for Kottarashky & The Rain Dogs’ Demoni was created by hand painting 50 vinyl records with a mixture of oil and gel paint markers, and acrylics. Ushev accomplished Demoni’s animation by varying the speed of his “Viking” gramophone, with some of the shots achieved through stop motion.
About the Author / MarBelle

MarBelle has a strange compulsion to watch as many films as he can get his hands on and find jobs that give him a legitimate excuse to drill filmmakers about their work. Directors Notes is the multi-decade incarnation of this disorder and remains so much cheaper than film school.
