If you took Nelson Boles’ heart warming animation Little Boat, stripped it of its cute characters and pulled it into a live action rather than animated universe, coupled with the musical refrains of Beirut you’d get somewhere close to Houmam Abdallah’s The Rip Tide promo. Close would be good, but if you failed to include Abdallah’s epically luscious skies we’d all be the more poorer for it.
About the Author / MarBelle

MarBelle has a strange compulsion to watch as many films as he can get his hands on and find jobs that give him a legitimate excuse to drill filmmakers about their work. Directors Notes is the multi-decade incarnation of this disorder and remains so much cheaper than film school.
