This week’s guest director Emma Curtis returned to the world of animation following the success of her 2005 installation piece Diary of a Hoarder and the repeated view that the obsessions of artist and collector Paul Escott were a ripe playground for a short film. Emma joins me to discuss the challenges of creating stop frame animation across multiple borrowed spaces…with wobbly floorboards.

MarBelle has a strange compulsion to watch as many films as he can get his hands on and find jobs that give him a legitimate excuse to drill filmmakers about their work. Directors Notes is the multi-decade incarnation of this disorder and remains so much cheaper than film school.
