When we last looked in on East London director Abbie Stephens, she had just completed her impressively dedicated mixed media promo for Loose Fit, so it’s heartening to see that when she strips back on the technique the resulting piece is just as effective.
Delivered in rhyming narration, Stephens’ charming short Misery Guts tells the story of Harriet, a young girl whose extreme bouts of moroseness literally see her down in the dumps, much to the despair of those around her. All seems lost until her chance encounter with a similarly deflated individual.
